I am a graduate student in the Interdepartmental Microbiology department working in Dr. Bryan
Bellaire’s Lab. My focus is studying bacterial and viral pathogenesis mechanisms and using that
knowledge to find therapeutics for various microbes.
One of my projects focuses on developing a nanoparticle based antimicrobial drug delivery system for
biowarfare agents, Burkholderia pseudomallei and Burkholderia mallei along with other BSL3 agents like,
Mycobacterium tuberculosis. We also study bacterial pathogenesis mechanisms using confocal
microscopy. My other project involves studying viral pathogenesis and antiviral screening for SARS CoV
