I am a Ph.D. student under the Fulbright Foreign Student Program of the Institute of International Education. Prior to pursuing my doctorate, I previously worked on microbiomes in polluted lacustrine ecosystems, particularly biosurfactant-producing bacteria capable of degrading hydrocarbons, and in abandoned mine tailings for benchmarking microbial resources to produce beneficial microbial compounds for the environmental restoration of mines. My current research interests include the integration of environmental microbiology, microbial genomics, and bioinformatics approaches in harnessing the unique capabilities of microbial communities towards remediating polluted environments.
I joined Dr. Adina Howe’s laboratory (Genomics and Environmental Research in Microbial Systems) during the Fall of 2024 as a Fulbright Scholar and a Graduate Researcher under the Interdepartmental Microbiology Graduate Program.
