Ann Clarisse Siababa and GERMS Lab Presents Woodchip Bioreactor Microbiome Research at ASM Microbe 2026

Ann Clarisse Siababa and members of the Genomics and Environmental Research in Microbial Systems (GERMS) laboratory, headed by Prof. Adina Howe, presented at the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Microbe in Washington, D.C., on June 4-7, 2026. Clarisse presented a poster highlighting their research work on woodchip bioreactor microbiome under the ASM Applied and Environmental Microbiology category – Water Microbiomes: Treatment Processes in Engineering Water Systems. Dr. Howe participated in the annual convention as an ASM mSystems senior editor and collaborator.

ASM is one of the largest and oldest life science societies in the world, dedicated to advancing the microbial sciences, solving global health challenges, and shaping health policies. This year, ASM brings together three specialized meetings under the ASM Microbe umbrella in one convention – showcasing the value of in-depth focus and interdisciplinary collaboration.
