We are proud to recognize Umar Shahid, a PhD candidate in Interdepartmental Microbiology program, for receiving the Veterinary Medicine Biomedical Research Graduate Scholarship. This prestigious award supports outstanding graduate students conducting biomedical research with potential applications in human medicine. His research focuses on deepening knowledge of the infectious disease dynamics of tularemia, with the goal of enhancing both animal and human health.
As part of his research, Umar presented a poster at the College of Veterinary Medicine Research Day, highlighting his work on TRIzol inactivation of select agents.
