Justin Anast earns 2nd place presentation at ASM

Justin Anast, third year PhD student in the Schmitz-Esser Lab, earned a 2nd place finish at the 2018 North Central Branch ASM conference in Mankato, Mn. His talk was titled, "Genome analysis of Brevibacterium strains isolated from Austrian hard cheese rinds reveals two novel Brevibacterium species and putative histamine catabolism pathway genes."

For his efforts he received a $75 reward and a cholera plush toy, Congrats Justin! See him in action below:
