IM graduate student Wayne Muraoka receives ISU Research Excellence Award

Congratulations to IM graduate student Wayne Muraoka on being named a recipient of an Iowa State University Research Excellence Award. This award honors students whose research accomplishments are among the top 10% at ISU in overall quality. Wayne’s thesis entitled “Campylobacter jejuni: metabolic diversity leading to competitive fitness” was conducted under the direction Qijing Zhang, Frank Ramsey Endowed Chair in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine.Wayne defended his dissertation this fall semester and has accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the Trudeau Institute, an independent nonprofit medical research organization located in Saranac Lake, NY.
