Dennis Psaroudakis presents at PAG

Dennis Psaroudakis presentingDennis Psaroudakis, a Fulbright Grantee from Germany who has been studying in the IM program for the last two semesters, presented the research he and his co-workers at Carolyn Lawrence-Dill's lab have been doing at the Plant and Animal Genome Conference 2019 in San Diego. The 15-minute talk was called Automatically Assigning GO Terms to Plant Gene Models and part of a workshop with the title Challenges and Opportunities in Plant Science Data Management.

“It was an amazing experience and I am very grateful that Carolyn [his PI] made it possible. At first I didn’t really want to go because it’s kind of scary to speak to an audience of established scientists in the field while I’m only a grad student working on that subject for a few months but it turned out to be very valuable for both sides and I got to know a lot of interesting people as well as a much better understanding of the field and scientific culture in the US in general. So it was really worth the stress!”
